Decorating Tips

Designing or Redecorating your Living room or Family room?

Before you select your colors for flooring, wall applications, and window treatments, choose the upholstered pieces for the area first and use them as a your color palette. To equally balance the room, you may want to choose a color that may be least represented in the fabric and enhance it by using it as a wall covering or drapery.

For example, if you have a plaid sofa with the main colors being green and taupe and a hint of rust, you may want to enhance the rust by using it for your walls and drapery and a few toss pillows in the same tone.

After you have it all completed, you can visually see if you may need to use any additional accessories to balance the green or taupe. If the room is dark and doesn't usually have a lot of natural lighting, to make it look brighter, use the taupe color that is in your fabric. For a more dramatic look, choose things with the same tone of green.
